❓ Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What typing speed is required for the CPCT MP exam?
CPCT requires a minimum of 30 WPM for English and 20 WPM for Hindi (Mangal font). Accuracy must be 85% or above. The CPCT certificate is mandatory for most Madhya Pradesh government department jobs.
Q: What happens in the SSC CHSL typing test?
SSC CHSL requires 35 WPM in English for the LDC post. The test is 10 minutes long. Errors are penalised — net WPM equals gross WPM minus error deductions. Maintaining accuracy above 80% is essential to pass.
Q: Which font is used for Hindi typing in government exams?
Mangal font with the Unicode Inscript keyboard layout is the standard for all government exams including SSC, Railway, VYAPAM, and CPCT. This is different from the older Krutidev font. EzSeva's Hindi test also uses Mangal Unicode.
Q: How long does it take to improve typing speed?
With 30 minutes of daily practice, clear improvement is visible within 4 to 6 weeks. Focus on accuracy first — aim for 95% or above. Speed follows naturally once your fingers know the correct positions. Start with the Finger Placement course.
Q: Can I take the typing test on a mobile phone?
Yes, the EzSeva typing test works on mobile virtual keyboards. However, for exam preparation you must practice on a physical keyboard — all government typing examinations are conducted on desktop computers with physical keyboards.
Q: How is WPM calculated?
WPM (Words Per Minute) = (correctly typed characters / 5) / minutes elapsed. Each group of 5 characters counts as one word — this is the international standard. Errors are subtracted when calculating net WPM.
